Flemish teachers inspired by Engaging

Workshop VeWeLe Illustration

Just like last year, we participated with a workshop at the Congress of the Association of Science Teachers (VeLeWe congres). This year, the event took place at Hasselt University. During this professional development conference, teachers can choose from a wide range of inspiring workshops. About ten teachers signed up for the workshop on Critical Thinking about Climate Change. The audience consisted of geography, biology, physics, and mathematics teachers. Whereas last year the emphasis was on the tutorials about climate change, this year we worked with the tutorials on critical thinking about climate change. The teachers were very enthusiastic about the approach and the possibilities to work on critical thinking and immediately saw opportunities to link it to lessons in philosophy or Dutch, where argumentation skills are also addressed. Inspiring, therefore, not only for the participants!
