Each year in December, the WND conference is organised in the Netherlands. Around 600 physics teachers gather for two days of professional development: they are inspired by lectures, workshops, and social activities.
Mieke from our Engaging team gave a workshop on the Critical Thinking in Climate Change tutorials for about 20 Dutch and Flemish teachers. In the workshop the importance of climate education was discussed and participants worked through some of the materials. While working through the tutorials, a lively discussion emerged among the participants about the feasibility of the materials and in which subjects they are best implemented. The whole challenge is that climate science is inherently interdisciplinary and does not always fit neatly into a school subject... It was a very engaging and lively workshop! Several teachers explicitly asked for the materials (which were not yet online at the time) to be provided.
